ACERA reviews a year of successful adjustment and plans for 2021
The Australia Chinese Energy and Resource Association (ACERA) held its AGM and dinner banquet on Sunday January 17th, 2020 at Mom Dumpling House, home to some of Perth’s finest North Eastern style Chinese cuisine.
Outgoing President Tysun Chan summarised the associations successful transition to online interactive events. Highlights were online Australia-China networking sessions featuring virtual face-to-face interactions between professionals from both nations to exchange ideas and develop relationships, as well as a careers seminar tailor made for Chinese oil and gas students in Australia.
With a move to conventional in-person events by the end of 2020 as a result of restrictions being eased in WA, the Association looks forward to further year of live activities supplemented by virtual interaction modes for colleagues joining in from interstate and overseas.
Cost control was successfully exercised throughout the year with the Associations financial position remaining relatively stable.
With the officer holders of President Tysun Chan, Vice President Alan Wang and Secretary General Yang Xue Mei electing to conclude their roles in 2021 and remain on as normal committee members, the ACERA has placed these positions as open for nominations. Please contact enquire@acera.org.au if interested.
In the interim pairs of committee members will assume acting manager roles to continue the Associations day to day activities.
